Dwayne Burks of The Resource Connection Gateway (a new program of Gaston County Family YMCA) talks about his SEED20 experience. Since he only has three minutes to tell his story, we’ve given him three questions to share his reflections!
A SEED20 Highlight: Meeting and collaborating with the other SEED20 nonprofits. There is a spirit of support and collaboration among the participants. I have not witnessed a hint of unhealthy competition.
Advice on Practicing a 3 Minute Pitch: I routinely practice my pitch while driving alone. Since I am so passionate about the Gateway’s service to our community, I am sure people sometimes wonder what is going on when they see me talking to myself and crying!
How Has SEED20 Shifted Your Mindset: I can express the breadth of my project much more succinctly and effectively as a result of the exceptional coaching and guidance I have received.
