We asked SEED20 alum Steven Wray of Restore Global about his SEED20 experience. He had three minutes on stage to tell his story so we’ve given him three questions to share his reflections!
Three Words to Describe Restore Global: Nonprofit helping nonprofits
Impact of SEED20 on Restore Global: It’s been a crazy year after the exposure of SEED20. It was our coming out in Charlotte! We’ve tripled the number of organizations we serve — many of whom are SEED20 Alum and Social Venture Partner Investees. I used to be surprised that our message wasn’t getting across and being understood. Because of SEED20, we learned to simplify our communication. Now, the community is behind us in helping us build and improve our model.
Advice on Practicing a Three Minute Pitch: A structured three minute pitch is very different than any other presentation you will give. I pitched to cartoon characters on my office wall and also practiced at lunch time in my church’s auditorium to get used to being in a large space.
The practice (and cartoon characters) paid off! Restore Global won the Coaches’ Award in 2017. Want to learn more about Restore Global and watch Steven’s SEED20 pitch? Click here.
