When not teaching science at Garinger High School, Bethany Darnley runs the Ultreia Society. We caught up with Bethany to hear about her SEED20 experience. Since she only has three minutes to tell her story, we’ve given her three questions to share her reflections!
A SEED20 Highlight: A highlight of SEED20 is the wealth of knowledge and mentorship from my coaches, as well as the other organizations. Throughout this process I feel as though I’m learning at a rapid fire pace. I love getting so much constructive criticism and being able to quickly apply what I’ve learned.
Advice on Practicing a 3 Minute Pitch: I practice while making my copies for the day and in between class changes. Those six minutes give me time to run through my pitch twice!
Unexpected Benefits of SEED20: I didn’t expect the palpable excitement to lift each other up and that we’d begin to collaborate so quickly on common opportunities! We all want to support the city. I’m enjoying seeing how our passion and work can not only intersect, but bolster each other’s impact.
