Jeff Rothberg leads Wise Guys — a program of Children’s Home Society of NC. We caught up with him to hear about his SEED20 experience. Since he only has three minutes to tell his story, we’ve given him three questions to share his reflections!
A SEED20 Highlight: Networking. On the first night of workshops, I met another nonprofit I can work with for mutual benefit for the youth we serve.
Advice on Practicing a 3 Minute Pitch: I tend to practice in my living room when no one is home. The top shelf of the bookcase in my living room has 25 12-inch Star Wars statues that extend across the entire room. Since they are up high and I’m practicing for a big theater, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker become my audience! The Force is with me.
An Unexpected Benefit of SEED20: I’ve been presenting Wise Guys to potential partners and funders for a few years. I never expected how well the coaches would help me refine and shorten my presentation to make it so much more impactful.
